Education

Dr. Fleischer taught northern Renaissance and Baroque art plus Colonial American art at Penn State from 1974 to 1996. His many publications include Ludolf de Jongh: Painter of Rotterdam (Doornspijk, Holland) and Gustavus Hesselius: Face Painter to the Middle Colonies (New Jersey State Museum, Trenton). He was awarded an honorary doctor of fine arts from Western Maryland College in 1993. Dr. Fleischer is writing a book on Abraham Hondius: Painter of Holland and England, to be published by Davaco Publishers Doornspijk, Holland).
